You all may have noticed that when you open a browser at the Information Desks, there are 3 tabs, 2 of which have different versions of the Info Index. The newer one is the end product of my Summer's work of moving the old Info Index over from BOB (the old Staffweb) to the new Staffweb. At this point, the migration is about 99% complete and should be 100% by the end of next week. What I would like you all to do is begin using the new Info Index, and here's the best way to do so:
- it is best if you first login to the site (students login with the login and password you use to login to the desks' PCs
- from the new Information Services home page, click on the button at the top right of the screen labeled 'only in current section,'
- then put your search term(s) in the search box above that text. DON'T HIT YOUR ENTER KEY, just wait.
- a drop-down box will shortly appear with your search results.
- you will need to go backto the homepage and click on the 'only in current section' before in-putting your next search terms.
I'll be scheduling an Information Services staff meeting during the next couple ofweeks to spend some time together looking at this new version of the Index. It will be important that all of you attend this meeting. In the meantime, give it a good try and send me your feedback, especially if there are things you cannot find there.
