We just discovered that the scanners we loan from the Allen Information Desk
and the scanner attached to one of the
Access+ PCs in Natural Sciences are not currently working. Learning & Scholarly Technologies (LST), the folks who support the
Access+ PCs, had purchased new scanners to replace the ones we currently have; and the new image installed on the
Access+ PCs has the software for the new scanners. Unfortunately, the new scanners have been held up in Purchasing. It is hoped they will arrive this week and will be delivered as soon as they do arrive.
Users needing the use of a scanner, in the meantime, should be sent to OUGL Commons.
The new scanners have arrived and are ready to loan to UW students, faculty and staff for in-library use on any of the Access+ computers. These new scanners require a separate power source. Point this out to users, so they can choose a location with easy access to a power outlet.
