Allen South Info Preparedness

As we build toward the beginning of Fall term, more and more people who were users of the Natural Sciences Library will be returning to campus. Some of these folks are going to be surprised at the recent changes, specifically at the closure of Natural Sciences. Please be particularly sensitive to how this may effect some of these users.

Here are some things that may come up (some have already come up):
  • Reserve materials which were once held at the Natural Sciences Circulation Desk
If it's faculty inquiring about placing materials on reserve, refer them to OUGL Reserve staff at 543-2991
If it's users looking for reserve materials, check the Libraries Course Reserves link or their My UW account.
  • If their question has to do with materials listed in the catalog as Natural Sciences Storage Assist them in making this request online just like any other off-site storage request.
  • If these users as seeking research help they typically received from Natural Sciences librarians Refer these questions to the Suzzallo Reference Desk, or help them locate the contact information for a particular subject librarian by consulting the Libraries' Subject Guides page
Don't hesitate to contact one of the Natural Sciences librarians for a user, if it seems that they are particularly concerned about the closure of that branch.
