The Saga of the Public Stapler

We had a pretty fun (and funny) discussion about staplers at today's R&RS staff meeting.  Needless to say, dealing with staplers seems to be taking more time for all of us these days; so I've decided to take the following steps:

1. I will have Facilities staff remove the bolts and/or chains holding all staplers to their various tables
2. The heavy-duty staplers will both be placed at the Allen Information Desk
3. Heavy-duty stapling will become a staff-mediated service [smiley face here] (to the extent that it's reasonable, do the stapling for the user.  Do not put it on the counter for users to use on their own.). 
4. The standard staplers will be on the honor system.  If they disappear we will replace them, unless it becomes ridiculous over time to continue doing that.  Having them unattached to the tables will make it easier to deal with jams.  We will keep an extra stapler in at the Allen Info and Reference Desks, just in case; and Ligaya will label each of these for their home location.
