Non-UW users accessing UW WorldCat from off campus have been confronted by a screen that tell them to click here if they are not UW affiliated (it's not quite that direct, unfortunately, but something to that effect). Now that option is no longer appearing for these users, so they cannot find a way into our catalog. This is a known, inadvertent WorldCat problem, which they are working to resolve.
If you get a call from an off-campus non-UW person, here is the present workaround:
If a remote, non-affiliated user performs a WCL search via the libraries home page, they will not see a link that allows them to "continue as guest".
If that same user performs a search from
http://uwashington.worldcat.org/ they will see a link that allows them to "continue as guest" in the lower left corner of their screen.
We suggest you direct remote, non-affiliated users to the WCL website until this can be resolved.
This problem has been reported and OCLC is investigating.
