Card Scanner Stops Working

Occasionally, the keyboard barcode scanners will beep when a card is swiped and the light will be green, but nothing actually happens in Alma (the text box just stays empty).  This can almost always be remedied by unplugging the card swipe from the computer, waiting about 3 seconds, and plugging it back in again.

At Suzzallo Info the scanner is plugged into a USB port on the front of the CPU.  The same is true of the HUB-side work station at Allen.  The stair-side station at Allen North has red tape on the plug you need to work with.
