The winter quarter Humans vs Zombies Tag game will begin today, January 8th and conclude on Friday January 12th. This game has been played at UW for several years and there is usually very little disruption to the Libraries. We expect this quarter will be the same. The following information may be of interest to all staff, particularly to those staffing public service desks.
This quarter's game will begin at 6:00am each day, and conclude at 5:00pm. All players will be marked with bright orange bandannas located either on their upper arm or head.
Players are not to play the game indoors. Playing the game includes running, chasing, tagging, stunning, or yelling to other players. Not playing the game includes walking through a building, or sitting in a hallway, even while wearing the orange bandanna.
Players are encouraged to remove their bandannas and put stunning devices away while inside campus buildings.
Players may use toy foam dart blasters AND socks during the game, although these blasters may not be painted or disguised in any way.
If a game-related disruption is caused in a library, staff should ask the player(s) to identify themselves, which they are required to do. Staff should then file a report in the Security & Disruptions Database and Chelle Batchelor, Director of Access Services, will follow up.
More information can be found on the UW Humans vs. Zombies Tag website.
