Husky/Dawg-Prints Cards Swipes Failing

There have been occassions recently when Husky and Dawg-Prints Cards have to be swiped mutiple times before they are 'read' by the add-value station. Publications Services staff are looking into whether there is something wrong with the swipe function of the dispenser.

At the same time, there are several hundred students whose Husky Card accounts are frozen because of delinquent Housing charges. These cards will not swipe successfully at the add-value station; and at the print station, these swipes will get an error message that the card is not recognized. These students need to be referred to the ID Center in Odegaard.

We also have been seeing a number of Husky Cards where the mag stripe is being worn away. These may also present a problem, and ultimately the student may need to have the card replaced.

Also, the add-value station/dispener is able to accept the new (Canadian-like) $5 bill.
