Dear Colleagues:
Art, Drama, Math-Research, EAL, and the top floor of the Music Library will all close at 2pm today, July 30, because of high temperatures within the facilities. We'll continue to evaluate the situation on a day-by-day basis.
The continuing high temperatures are affecting the entire campus and our air conditioned library spaces (Suzzallo-Allen, OUGL, Foster, HSL, and Physics-Astronomy) are seeing an increase in usage as people try to beat the heat. I've heard that several whole classes this week moved out of overheated classrooms and met as best they could in our public areas. We normally only think of Libraries public spaces as places of refuge during the winter, but it's an important and valued role in this unseasonably hot weather, too.
