As materials are integrated, their item records are being changed; so that for monographs, the catalog public display change is almost immediate. For serials, there are 2 parts of the record that need to be changed: the item record and the check-in record. The check-in record is the part displayed in UW WorldCat in the 'Get it in the library' display. In the UW-only catalog, this information displays in the 'Location, Call Number, Lib. Has' part of the record.
Right now there is a start-up backlog in changing serials check-in records, a backlog which should be wiped out in the next day or 2. As it is now, serials with item records changed but check-in records not changed, you will see contradictory locations. Take a look at Newsweek in the UW-only catalog to see what I mean. The first page location for this journal still shows Suzzallo Periodicals. If you click on the View additonal copies... bar you will see the location as Suzzallo/Allen Stacks.
Sion Romaine, who changes the check-in records for these periodicals, is on vacation until August 5. So follow the above procedures to verify periodicals locations when they are in the ranges of those being moved until he returns.
