Windows Live Mail at the Desk PCs

When you click on an email link on a Web page (Info Index or otherwise) or when you are emailing a .pdf to someone from the Information or Reference Desk PCs, the mailer program we use is Windows Live Mail.  This mailer requires a setup using someone's email address for authentication to be able to send email.  Kathy has used my email address for this purpose.

Emails sent from one of these mailers look as though they are coming from Info Desk or Reference Desk.  Replies, however, will come directly to me.  So, be sure to sign these emails in case someone does respond to them and I need to forward the responses to you, or I need to follow up on problem reports you've made.

If anything happens other than the mailer box popping up and then disappearing when your click on send, then let Kathy Carr or me know.  There should never be a need for you to go into the Live Mail setup windows.  If you are ever prompted to set up Live Mail, then it is broken and needs to be reported.  In that case, go ahead and use your own email until we can get the problem corrected.  Please do not attempt to set up Live Mail on one of the desk PCs, even if you think you know how.
