Bed Bug FAQ Goes Public

Colleagues,

As you are no doubt aware, on December 5, 2012, the New York Times ran an article by Catherine Saint Louis about bed bugs in libraries.  This has now gone viral, and there is a lot of attention focused on UW despite the fact that our very minor experience was months ago.

Stephanie Lamson and AC Petersen have updated the FAQ on the topic and it is now on the News/Events page and  linked from the Spotlight—please take a look.  This could also be useful to student hourly staff working on the weekends and in the evenings, so please share with them:

If weekend and evening staff  are not able to answer requests for more detailed information from members of the public or university community, they should direct the questions to AskUs—email or chat—and the question will be appropriately referred.  Media queries should be directed to AC Petersen, acpete@uw.edu.

I know you all probably feel that you have heard as much about bedbugs as you can possibly endure, but just wanted you to know that we now have this public document available.

Thanks for your help in providing accurate information to our users—and sorry to get this out so late on a Friday!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Cynthia
