Student Directed Course Reserves Pilot - Winter Quarter 2013

Starting in Winter Quarter 2013, OUGL will be piloting student-requested course reserves. Our goal is to make our operations more responsive to student needs by allowing them to request a copy of a primary course text to be placed on 2-hour reserve in cases where the course instructor has not already done so.
The process is very similar to our normal reserve request procedures with a few simplifications.
  1. All requests must be submitted via this web form: <http://www.lib.washington.edu/types/course/instructors/student-request/>
  2. Only texts required* for the class will be added.
We are hoping that you will help make this project a success by encouraging students to make requests. A great time to do this is when a student comes to your service desk or contacts you through chat and asks if we have on reserve a book for their course. It will only take a couple of minutes to walk them through filling out the form.
Students should be directed to this web page for more information: <http://www.lib.washington.edu/ougl/collections/student-directed-course-reserves-pilot-winter-quarter-2013>

*Required is defined as titles that are represented as “required” in the course syllabus or identified by the course instructor as primary for the completion of course work and required reading for the course. This does not include supplemental readings or titles recommended for research projects or further reading by the course instructor.
