Edward Curtis' The North American Indian Series

Recently Tim Egan published a book about Edward Curtis, a renowned anthropologist who did extensive research with Pacific Northwest native peoples in the late 1800's.  As a result, there has been a renewed interest in one of Curtis' best known publications:

The North American Indian : being a series of volumes picturing and describing the Indians of the United States, and Alaska
Edward S. Curtis 1868-1952. Frederick Webb Hodge 1864-1956.; Theodore Roosevelt 1858-1919.; J Morgan (John Pierpont), 1837-1913.; University Press (Cambridge, Mass.), printer.; Plimpton Press, printer. 1907-1930

The UW Libraries does own this set, but it is located in Special Collections and requires an appointment to see.  The set is somewhat rare and quite valuable.

If you get calls or other inquiries about this, refer the person to Special Collections.
