Desktop article delivery from the UW Libraries and beyond... at no cost for current UW students, faculty and staff
For the next four months, the UW Libraries will be conducting a desktop article delivery pilot project. We'll be pulling and scanning journal articles from the UW Libraries collection and waiving fees for current UW students, faculty and staff. The pilot project also includes providing no cost ILL for UW Health Sciences affiliates. Since free ILL service has long been available for most UW departments, this equalizes service across campus.
Units will be getting some promotional materials soon including book marks, table tents and flyers to post. We would appreciate it if you would display these materials prominently in your unit.
The pilot project will allow the Libraries to determine actual demand for the service and make budget projections. The final decision about permanent implementation of this service will depend largely on future budget constraints and demands.
More information about the pilot project is available at http://www.lib.washington.edu/ill/pilot.html. If you have any questions, please contact the ILL/Document Delivery Harmonization team at uwlib-illddhig@u.washington.edu.
